What kind of equipment will be used?   View Answer

CIS has national contracts with Trane, York, Goodman, Carrier and Lennox and we regularly work with most other manufacturers.  We will use a product equal to or better than the original insured product.  Our goal is to provide like kind and quality.

Will CIS be my contractor?   View Answer

CIS has established a national network of HVAC contractors that are some of the best in the industry.  If CIS is chosen to complete the repair or replacement of an HVAC system one of our network contractors will complete the work.

Will I receive a warranty if CIS does my installation?   View Answer

CIS provides our customers with factory warranties for parts as well as one year labor warranty for work provided by any of our network contractors.  We also offer our customers the opportunity to add extended warranties for that extended piece of mind.

CIS is very effective with residential HVAC and well pump claims and we want to provide the insurance industry the best possible service.  We have found that we can assist the most with damage resulting from copper theft and lightning strikes.  We have implemented several programs designed around these perils and we are finding the results to be nothing less than astounding.

How did you get my information?   View Answer

CIS works directly with your insurance company. Your insurance company submits the detailed claim information to CIS and we contact you to resolve your claim.

Can anyone access my claim information?   View Answer

No, only your insurance company and CIS can view and access your claim details.  Your personal information is held in strict confidentiality and not shared or sold.

What can I do to expedite my claim?   View Answer

With any loss that may involve a CIS consultant, the best way to speed up the claim process is to have your documentation ready, all contact information for your contractors prepared and availability to the loss site for an inspection.

Who do I contact if I have a problem or question?   View Answer

Every insured receives a document from our staff that includes phone numbers, email addresses and fax numbers for your claim consultant and their managers. If for some reason you do not receive one or have misplaced it, call our main number at 888-345-2700 and explain your needs to our receptionist.  Our receptionist staff would be more than happy to direct you to the proper manager.

Can I ask the person or company that is inspecting my equipment for an estimate or their opinion?   View Answer

Our technician is there to collect data only. CIS does not ask them or request an opinion from them. CIS consultants will review the information provided and form an opinion and forward it to your insurance claim handler for their review.


Claim Handlers:

How do I submit a claim?   View Answer

You can click on the link on the front page to login or you can visit You will need the company code, username and password.  If you have any questions about the company code, username, password or submitting a claim, please contact CIS at 630-616-1905 option 1 and our customer service representatives will be happy to assist you.

What if I submitted some incorrect information or have additional information to add?   View Answer

Once you receive the confirmation of claim submission, you will have CIS’ six digit control number. You can login to our claim management system and send additional notes directly into our claim notes by viewing your open files.  The updated or corrected information is saved directly into our file and CIS’ claim handler is notified of the new note by email.  You can also contact one of CIS’ representatives and they will assist you with any changes at 888-345-2700.

Is The site Secure?   View Answer

Yes, all information submitted to CIS is protected up to 256-bitSSL encryption.

Can I login and check status on a claim?   View Answer

With your login you will have access 24/7 to claim notes, uploaded documents and invoices for that specific claim or any claims you have submitted to CIS.

Do you have mobile inspections and installations available?   View Answer

Mobile services are available in many areas on a claim by claim basis. CIS will make every effort to provide mobile service when requested, but can not guarantee it is available in all markets.  CIS requires pre-authorization for mobile installations and inspections due to the additional charges that apply.
